Ready to explore NuoDB on your own?
The NuoDB Community Edition is a multi-host version of the NuoDB distributed database, limited to three Transaction Engines and one Storage Manager. Before you download, however, we invite you to take the NuoDB Test Drive, a guided, hands-on technical tour of NuoDB's continuous availability and elastic scaling capabilities using Docker (available today only on Linux).
The Community Edition is free of charge and allows you to self-evaluate NuoDB through a series of quick-start guides and/or build and run your applications on your own laptop, desktop, or in the cloud:
- ACID compliant transactions
- Rich ANSI SQL capabilities
- Simple to use administration
Step 1:
Review the System Requirements.
Step 2:
Select and download NuoDB Release 3.1 for the appropriate operating system (listed to the right). By downloading, you accept these terms and conditions.
Step 3:
Provision resources, and start a database (check out this resource). Enable NuoDB Insights by running the command:
/opt/nuodb/etc/nuoca/bin/enable_insights.sh
Learn more about NuoDB Insights here.
STEP 4:
Visit the Developer Center for tips on getting started, product documentation and user forums. Support for the Community Edition is available only through the KnowledgeBase.
