NuoDB Launches Development Center for Europe, Middle East & Africa in Ireland
Expands talent pool to accelerate software development and support global customers
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – June 15, 2015 – NuoDB, the leader in scale-out SQL database technology for global operations, today announced the opening of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) development center in Dublin, Ireland and a new office in Belfast, Northern Ireland – designed to tap into the region’s pool of dynamic and highly skilled talent.
This software development center will also provide support services to its existing customer base and be the hub for other NuoDB employees in the Netherlands, Italy, Bulgaria and Belarus. The center will be led by EMEA Engineering Director Martin Gallwey. Prior to joining NuoDB, Gallwey led back-end development at Corvil.
The five-year old NuoDB is expanding rapidly to keep pace with the growing demand for its unique database management system. With the explosion of global applications and real-time mobile transaction needs, more and more companies are adopting NuoDB’s high-performance, on-demand capacity database to run their businesses and solve data residency challenges.
Over the next three years, NuoDB plans to recruit several dozen engineers and tech support professionals in Europe, including 50 in Dublin and 20 in Belfast. Earlier this year, NuoDB opened its EMEA headquarters near London, U.K. as part of its international expansion strategy.
“We are investing in NuoDB EMEA to expand our global reach to better support our enterprise customers and meet the demand for our innovative solution,” said Barry Morris, chief executive officer and co-founder, NuoDB. “By establishing our presence in Ireland, we’ll be able to grow our product development team and work with some of the best and brightest talent in Dublin and Belfast.”
NuoDB was launched in 2010 by industry-renowned database architect Jim Starkey and accomplished software CEO Barry Morris to deliver a scale-out SQL database management system designed for global operations.
Used by more than 20,000 developers worldwide, NuoDB’s customers include Europe’s second largest ISV Dassault Systèmes, and many other leading software, telecommunications, and financial services organizations.
NuoDB is headquartered in Cambridge, MA, USA. For further information visit nuodb.com.
