Good News Travels Faster
Feb 24 2014
The New York Times did an analysis not long ago that found, contrary to the old adage that bad news travels faster, the opposite is true in our social-media-centric world. Turns out that yes (!) nowadays the good news travels at the speed of the worldwide web. We sure hope that’s true because we have some really good news to share.
We announced in a press release today an investment by Dassault Systèmes (3DS), the second largest independent software vendor (ISV) in Europe. 3DS is the 3DEXPERIENCE company and the world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. They are also a NuoDB customer.
Money is a wonderful tool but what pleases us the most is the honor to be strongly supported by a company like 3DS. From the Forbes Innovation Award to the Premiere Automotive Supplier’s Contribution To Excellence, and lots of recognition in between, Dassault Systèmes is recognized globally for their many technical advances and innovations.
In the press release Dominique Florack, Senior Executive Vice President, Products-R&D, Dassault Systèmes stated,“NuoDB delivers a lot of the features required to address the market needs in terms of usages in the new world of experiences.”
ISVs everywhere are headed for the cloud whether private, public or hybrid clouds, SaaS applications built from scratch, or migration of existing apps. The toughest challenge in this journey is always the database layer of the cloud stack. Traditional scale-up database systems deliver none of the key cloud requirements, including elastic scale-out/scale-in, continuous availability and geo-distributed operation.
The vote of confidence from a world-class ISV like Dassault Systèmes reinforces that we are leading the move to the cloud with the right solution at the right time.
