Expanding To Serve EMEA
Today NuoDB announced the opening of our European headquarters in the M4 corridor, Britain’s technology hub for IT and telecommunications services. Plus we also announced the appointment of Martin Gaffney to head up the new office as EMEA regional director.
We have seen very robust market interest from EMEA. Dassault Systemes, the second largest software vendor in Europe, has been a customer/investor in NuoDB for more than a year. We recently closed sales with UAE Exchange of Abu Dhabi and 1E, a London-based company that identifies and optimizes IT costs. We have also had more than 3,500 developers evaluate the NuoDB scale-out SQL database in EMEA. See today’s press release for further details.
It does not hurt that our CEO, Barry Morris, is an old hand at running very successful enterprise software companies in EMEA and the US and is a native of South Africa. Thanks to Barry and Martin Gaffney, NuoDB knows the lay of the land.
Martin joins NuoDB from IBM Netezza. He was Sales Director, Big Data, for IBM’s UK Telco & Retail Markets. He was previously part of the regional founding teams for Sequent, Tivoli and Netezza, all ultimately acquired by IBM.
Stay tuned for more success stories from EMEA.
